recognizes the difficulties in acquiring metro fiber and the sometimes
lengthy process of lighting it. That is why we have partnered
with Level3 in offering the Metro Starter Kit – our solution
that eases the migration from lit to dark services.
Metro Starter Kit
The
Metro Starter Kit allows customers to use wavelength (OC-48 & OC-192)
or Ethernet (1GE & 10GE) services immediately, without
waiting for the IRU process and equipment purchase & deployment
to complete. For
services from any On-Net location along the metro fiber path
you are purchasing, FiberCo will credit 50% of lit services
fees paid (for up to 12 months) toward the final dark fiber
IRU purchase price (up to 50% of the IRU cost). By making
this unique deal available to our members, Internet2 and FiberCo
hope to make owning your own fiber easier and more cost-effective
than ever before.
Metro Purchases
FiberCo also offers significant discounts for high fiber
purchases in the metro market and pulling LEAF fiber into
